Boob Food: Ingredients

Add Breastmilk Boosters to any meal to improve breastmilk supply & quality

Breastfeeding had not been easy for me. I thought that once a mother gives birth, milk will naturally flow like fountains in Las Vegas. But my breasts were more like Sahara Desert dry.

Being in a melting pot of cultures, I’ve accumulated many tips on how to increase milk supply or improve milk quality or support mom’s health. Today, I’ll share ingredients you can easily mix with your favorite meals, soups, breads or desserts.

Add Breastmilk Boosters to any meal to improve breastmilk supply & quality

Ginger. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, new moms are believed to need more “heaty’ food such as ginger. My mom put ginger on every single dish I ate on the first month after giving birth. From western science point of view, it is great for blood circulation and overall health. (If you’re taking medication for blood pressure, diabetes, blood clotting or cardiovascular diseases, consult your doctor before taking ginger, as it may reduce the efficacy of such medicines. )

Coconut oil. The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition discovered that adding coconut oil in a lactating mom’s diet boosts monolaurin in breastmilk by 300%, this is a wonder nutrient that gives breastmilk its healing pow-wow.

(Bebebalm is made of premium virgin coconut oil AND enriched with even more plant-based Monolaurin. No wonder it’s so awesome for skin health.)

Dark Chocolate. In Chinese culture, new moms are stuffed with dark chocolates to fortify the body. If you want to go scientific, the theobromine in dark chocolates has been found to increase breast milk supply.

Moringa leaves. One of the most nutrient-dense food in the world, this has been scientifically proven to increase breast milk supply. Since ancient times, Moringa has been used in the Philippines to improve breastmilk supply, as well as to fight malnutrition in infants and breastfeeding moms.

Oats. They are high in B vitamins, iron, zinc, manganese, calcium; and an excellent source of soluble fiber. These help give an energy and mood uplift, fight off exhaustion, anxiety, stress, and depression.

Brewer’s Yeast. Add 2-4 TBSP. Of brewer’s yeast to a batch of cookies or brownies; and feel those boobies grow. It’s got an acquired taste so start with 2 TBSP and adjust to your taste on future batches.

Flaxseed Meal. Ground flaxseed spoils fast, it’s recommended to grind just before use. Soak in water for 5 minutes before mixing with other ingredients.
